I think the world is divided into cooks who clean as they go, and those others who are happiest when every surface is scattered as proof they have been creating something of wonder.

Can you enjoy a meal with the kitchen a wreck?
Even when we had kitchens much larger than our roost now, I’d hyperventilate if dirties were not soaking in the sink during the process.

I’m not saying my way is the only way… but it’s the only way that works for me. The alternative would be to never attempt things that require as much time on the clean up end as the creative end. There is probably a disorder out there for this syndrome, something with fancy initials that I am in total denial about, but this infliction has turned into a blessing in our 8’ x 11’ kitchen.

With a little washing up in between steps, we are cooking as much as we ever did. Perhaps even being more creative along the way. Always a silver lining when we keep our minds open. Surely that offsets any initialed disorder I might (or might not) have!
